Our duty
Real estate brokers in the UAE are designated non-financial businesses and professions under Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2018 on Anti-Money Laundering and the related Cabinet Decisions. We take these duties seriously because they protect buyers, sellers and the market.
What we ask of you
- Valid identification (passport or Emirates ID) for every buyer, seller, landlord and tenant we act for.
- The beneficial owner of any company involved, with supporting documents.
- Information about the source of funds for the purchase.
- Information about whether you are a politically exposed person.
What we do
- Verify identity and screen against sanctions lists before a transaction proceeds.
- Keep records for the period the law requires.
- Report suspicious activity to the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit through the goAML system, as required by law. We may not be able to tell you when we have made a report.
- Train our team and review our controls regularly.
Cash and payments
We do not accept cash for property purchases. Payments go to the developer's registered escrow account or by regulated bank transfer. Never pay a deposit to an individual's personal account.
